Rod Lowering Survey Trains

For Drill Rods Larger Than
"A" Survey Train Rods
Note: Usually Used
With Conventional
Drilling Systems
Drill rod lowering or insertion techniques are used where instrument retrieval is uncertain in steep holes, or if gravity cable lowering is not possible.

The Tropari is capable of measuring azimuth and inclination of the borehole at any angle or azimuth without any modification.

In shallow or horizontal holes, the rod train will sag mid-way between the connector and the end centralizer. With 4 "A" rods the maximum error is 1.8 degrees when the rod/centralizer diameters are large enough to allow the full sag of 97mm. An additional centralizer mid-way in the train will limit this error.

With drilling sizes larger than "H", we recommend 5 non-magnetic rods in the survey train.
